Week 10, 12/4/2017
Hello guys!
One of the hard things that some missionaries have to do sometimes
is to "whitewash" an area. Whitewashing an area happens when both
missionaries who get assigned there are new to the area. There are many reasons
that this might happen.
Our mission lost more missionaries than it gained this transfer.
So that none of the areas go without missionaries some companionships are now
covering two areas. For the most part, they paired up one person from each area
into a companionship. But the sisters in Fairfax couldn't very well be
companions with Elder Nielsen or me. So instead the sisters both got moved and
Nielsen and I are "whitewashing" their area while at the same
time having to maintain ours. So it has been a busy week.
As a missionary you are supposed to always be working; so every
missionary is busy. But there's being normal missionary busy, and then there's
having a full schedule every day with nothing but verified appointments. Last
transfer we were missionary busy, and now we're just busy!
You're not going to hear me complaining though. The work goes by
way better when you're busy. We've been spending the week getting to know the
area and all the people in it. It's been a blast.
We watched the Christmas devotional last night. It was really
good I loved all the talks. For those of you who aren't LDS every year the
Church puts on a live broadcast where the leaders of our church give talks
about the Christmas season. I would recommend it to anyone. You can learn a lot
from it even if you're not LDS. You can watch it at https://www.lds.org/broadcasts/watch/christmas-devotional/2017/12?lang=eng&vid=5666671897001
Stay safe and don't eat the yellow snow.
