Week 11, 12-11-2017First
What's up people!
First Snow - it's been a while! |
We had our first snow this week. It was about 3-4 inches high in
the grass. It didn't stick to the roads or sidewalks because they were all
salted the night before. Even though the roads were completely safe we were
asked by our mission president not to drive that day.
So Elder Nielsen and I ended up walking and biking all day. I
kind of felt bad because I didn't do my workout that morning but after an
entire day of cardio I didn't feel as bad.
I went on exchanges with one of the office Elders this week.
(The office Elders are missionaries that help out the people that work in the
mission office.) We spent the morning driving around the mission dropping things
off in other missionaries’ apartments. We helped out in the office in the
evening.
It ended up being a lot of fun. The Elder I was with is named
Gallaway. He grew up in Texas. In fact, he was in the same stake growing up that
my parents live in now. We ended up talking about superhero movies and things
like that. Eventually, we got super nerdy and started talking about Naruto. (In
my defense I haven't watched Naruto in years.)
Also, S- (a recent convert) went to the temple this week to do
baptisms for the dead. (In the LDS church we do things like baptisms in the
temple in the name of people who passed away without the chance to accept the
gospel in this life.) It was really nice to talk to her about that especially
because she is very sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
By the way, Star Wars 8 is coming out in a few days. I don't
want spoilers, but I'm calling it now that Kylo is going to die saving his
mother from Snoke, and the movie is going to end with Rey constructing a yellow
double-bladed-lightsaber!
Stay safe and warm.
